What Cash Cow processes
Cash Cow processes the merchant’s Shopify shop domain, app session, charge rules, conditions, managed product and variant IDs, theme installation state, appearance settings, uploaded media, and operational audit events. When you choose an order tag, Cash Cow also receives the order-created event long enough to find the managed charge lines and add that tag. If a merchant starts Smart suggestions, Cash Cow reads active product details and the last 60 days of order line items to calculate aggregate product sales and eligibility patterns.
What Cash Cow does not store
Cash Cow does not store customer profiles, names, contact details, addresses, payment details, checkout data, or a copy of the full order. It keeps only the order and charge references needed for tagging and merchant reporting. Cart evaluation receives only the normalized cart information needed to decide eligibility. Smart suggestions discard the individual orders after aggregation; only product-level totals and the resulting recommendations are saved.
Shopify and service providers
Shopify remains the source of truth for the merchant’s store, products, cart, checkout, and files. Cash Cow runs its app service, PostgreSQL database, and image-generation worker on Railway. An image prompt is either merchant-authored or created from product catalog and aggregate sales facts, and must not contain customer information. For Smart suggestions, OpenAI receives selected public product images, product metadata, and product-level sales totals—never buyer identity, contact, address, or payment data. Generated media is saved to Shopify Files for the merchant to review, use, or dismiss.
Retention and deletion
Uninstall and Shopify shop-redaction webhooks remove the shop’s app records, sessions, media jobs, snapshots, and audit data. Customer privacy webhooks return successfully because Cash Cow does not hold customer records. Shopify can revoke app access before the uninstall webhook arrives, so Shopify-hosted charge products or saved media files should be removed from Settings before uninstalling. Completed order records remain available in Shopify. A merchant can request help with deletion using the support contact below.
